Hey Doc if I lived near Tallahassee I’d be happy to come over and help you with the patio gear. But Naples is a bit too far away. Thanks for staying on top of things this season. Hopefully next year you can give us more mood music and less storm prognostication.
Thank you for your daily updates this season. It was reassuring to know we had a source of information that wasn't hyped or exaggerated. Have a restful off-season and looking forward to hopefully a quieter season for 2025.
And I was so looking forward to putting up those 41 hurricane shutters again.
My question from Helene. I have over the years watched passing hurricanes on the Tampa 10 radar presentation. Besides the cone and pasta lines you can also set it to see "Storm Tracks" and it will show the induvial cells within the storm, their tracks and also if there is rotation in the cell. When the eye of Helene was opposite us here in Sarasota the radar seemed to show a lot of outflows to the North on the northwest part of the storm rather than all the cells just going in the circle around the eye. I just wondered if that was usual or particular to Helene as I don't recall seeing that much outflow in the past. In retrospect I assume that is part of what brought all the misery to Carolina and Tennessee.
Right. That was indicative of Helene interacting with a cutoff low to its northwest, which it eventually merged with inland and dragged it north/northwest rather than northeast after landfall.
Yeoman's duty this year for sure. Thank you doesn't seem to be enough but thanks anyway. Can always count on you for the straight stuff and that means everything.
Enjoy the off season and a very early Season's Greetings to you and your family!
Ryan, I really hope we are done! This report is an early Christmas gift. What a season! We all climbed ACE Everest with you—thank you again so much. You have left me with this little gem of advice in this post— “Don’t let pasta lead you astray”. Always good advice. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and your family!

I agree so much with you— nice to have updates that were thoughtful and intelligent, not hyped up
“Don’t let pasta lead you astray.” And especially leftover pasta!
Yes. You DID make it stop. Thanks for all you do.

Super cool graphics, nice subhead, and excellent writing as usual! Thank you!
