Dr., are the brass at TPS still keeping up w/ your missives?

From my conversations when I visited in May, they use them to make weather decisions, and also send them along to the other private schools in Central Florida. If only I had the power to close school when I was there...

It would be helpful if you were to provide a glossary of the acronyms and three letter abbreviations you use in your reports.

Cordially,

Charles Patten

Sorry! I usually do try to define acronyms. In this case, GFS = Global Forecast System, or the leading American weather forecast model.

GFS for me means Gotta Find Storms.

No need to apologize. I read your forecasts with avid interest, since i live in a Class A flood area. I know what ACE means, because you defined it for me a long time ago. It might be helpful to have all your abbreviations at my side when I peruse your reports.

Thank you,

Charles Patten

Lol…I guess I’ve been living under a rock all these years! Never heard of a Plinko chip. Had to look it up! Gees. Not only do you help educate and inform me about the weather…you’ve provided opportunities to learn other new things. 😉 I strive to learn something new every day; there it is!

Glad it’s quiet so far on storm front…but we badly need rain here in SE (Martin County). Seems the Lake hogs it all, with it’s own doings, not willing to share. Every afternoon it gets dark, then rumble, rumble to the West…not a drop here. Gettin’ a bit crispy. Kinda like being left on the BBQ grill too long…!
