Watching September anxiously for my independent strong-willed (some say stubborn) mother-in-law who will turn 101 in September. We weathered Ian together. A serene 2023. Then, we left the day before Milton formed, after celebrating 100 while watching Helene. Please perform whatever voodoo you can to keep Englewood safe this year.

Gee and I was going to ask him to spare us near SRQ and send any storms down near Charlotte Harbor. Maybe Naples instead.

Hope Milton didn't do a number on you. She's in Sarasota County but not on the beach, so her street was underwater but it didn't reach the house. Charlotte Harbor is OK, as long as it doesn't run up the Myakka river like Ian did!

No we had minor damage, we are near the airport and the max wind there was 110. With Milton on our south side we did OK. I was with a private utility on Siesta Key for 24 years and glad we never got a bad one then. Milton came ashore over South Siesta Key. I retired in 2007. We live in what is called Whitfield Estates, celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year.

So what you are implying is the Cruise down island we're taking in September might be in for some adventure? Oh well, we've not ridden a storm in a few years . . . maybe decades. Thanks Ryan, love your forecasts, they are generally the most accurate I've seen.

Thank you for teaching me to hate August. Though coming from Southwest Florida I hate late September and early October more. Any progress on your West coast vs. East coast Florida landfall probability forecast?

As much as I love your work, sometimes it's like talking to my cartologists.
